TOGETHER WE STAND 9/11 – September 9 – The Kauai Amateur Radio Club will be participating in the 9/11 Day of Service event at the Kukui Grove Shopping Center in Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii tomorrow, Friday, September 9, 2022, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm Hawaii Standard Time. It’s been more than 20 years since the terrorist attacks on 9/11. We continue to honor the sacrifices made that day by remembering the heroes, armed forces, first responders, amateur radio operators and countless others’ acts of service to defend our nation’s freedom.
The Kauai Amateur Radio Club will be demonstrating how amateur radio can be an important component in your preparedness plan. Jim Pilgram, NH6HI, will have a radio station displayed. Other organizations participating at the shopping center include the Kauai Fire Department, Kauai Police Department, American Red Cross, Emergency Medical Services, Wilcox Hospital, Mahelona Hospital, Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital, Kauai Emergency Management Agency, and the Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) organizations.
A special Public Service Communications net will be held at Noon Hawaii Standard Time (2200 UTC) commemorating this event. The net will originate from the Kukui Grove Center and will take place on both the Kauai Amateur Radio Club repeaters and Hawaii Mainland Overseas AllStar Network. Please join us at the shopping center or on the net. Jim, NH6HI, will be the NCS.
