ARRL at Huntsville and HamXposition

There will be two upcoming opportunities to visit with ARRL in August. At the Huntsville Hamfest, ARRL Southeastern Division Convention in Alabama and Northeast HamXposition, ARRL New England and Hudson Division Convention in Massachusetts. ARRL membership and programming staff will host a booth within the expo of each event to chat with members, answer questions, and assist with renewing or extending ARRL memberships.

ARRL CEO David Minster, NA2AA, will also meet and greet members at both events, and ARRL President Rick Roderick, K5UR, will attend the Huntsville Hamfest. If you cannot join us at one of these events, join in the fun and meet your regional and local volunteer leaders at one of the many other Hamfests and Conventions happening this month. New ARRL Radio Lab

Get your first look into the new ARRL Radio Laboratory, W1HQ. Jherica Goodgame, KI5HTA, brings viewers on a tour through the new lab highlighting its innovative take on the future of amateur radio stations. Three operating positions provide an interface to rack-mounted and computer-controlled transceivers, amplifiers, antenna switches, and rotators. Watch the video to get an in-depth look.

Get Outside and On the Air

Taking a portable station outside is a fun and exciting way to operate. Outside activities like a camping trip, spending the day at the park, and hiking up a summit can be combined with amateur radio no matter your license class, experience, or interests. Learn how to design, set up, and run a station in remote locations with Portable Operating for Amateur Radio, available now at arrl.org/shop.
