Tony’s 10m Band Report
Another huge week, please note the increased requirements to get into the list. Here are a few of the DX stations that were being sought after. EX0QR (Kyrgyzstan), 8Q7CQ (Maldives), TO3Z (Guadeloupe), S01WS (Western Sahara) and more, more, more

New distance records on the 134 GHz and 241 GHz bands
IARU Region 1 reports that on March 1st and 2nd, DB6NT and DK5NJ made a new distance record on the 134 GHz and 241 GHz amateur radio bands

Friedrichshafen HAM RADIO 2022 will welcome worldwide visitors
The ARRL report that with the recent relaxation of COVID-19 regulations, the Deutscher Amateur Radio Club (DARC) and Messe Friedrichshafen, partners of the HAM RADIO 2022 exhibition in Germany, are optimistically looking forward toward to holding the 45th HAM RADIO from June 24 – 26 in Friedrichshafen, subject to the final official approval by the local authorities

SP DX Contest 2022 cancelled
After careful deliberation, the SP DX Contest Committee, together with Polish Amateur Radio Union (PZK) and the SP DX Club, has decided to cancel the 2022 SP DX Contest

AMSAT booth scheduled for 2022 CubeSat Developers Workshop
The 2022 Cubesat Developers Workshop will be held on April 26-28 at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, California. The workshop, themed “Building the Future of Space Together”, recently announced the schedule for the three day event and is available online

Radio Caroline – 648kHz is on lower power
The Station posted on its website: Our AM 648 transmitter shutdown due to an ‘air’ fault, which could be due to cooling or a fan fault. A reset has brought it back to life, but we are not sure if this was just a one-off error or if it does have a fault. It may well shut down again

PCGS balloon launch spans globe nine times
The Pella Christian Grade School 8th grade science classes, under the direction of Joanna Settles, launched an amateur radio GPS tracker on a scientific balloon on November 2, 2021 with the Pella Amateur Radio Club

Helgoland hop
Over twenty amateur radio operators will activate the German island of Helgoland for two weeks, starting this Friday, the 25th of March

On March 17 the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications (CEPT) announced the indefinite suspension of Russia and Belarus following the invasion of Ukraine

CAMSAT’s CAS-10 is an 8U CubeSat that will carry an Amateur Radio VHF to UHF linear transponder for SSB communications

Ye Olde Hurdy Gurdy Museum of Vintage Radio
Tony, Ei5EM informed the Irish Radio Transmitters Society that, contrary to what was erroneously stated on a recent radio programme, the museum is not closing down and, in fact, will be reopening at weekends starting in April
