Sweden’s government is increasing the levy charged on household electricity bills to enable the Swedish Electrical Safety Agency to improve EMC compliance and reduce RF pollution from electronic devices

Ofcom FoI: Have any radio amateurs using hotspots breached regulations
In a Freedom of Information request Ofcom were asked how many radio amateurs operating hotspots had breached regulations

HamSCI invites abstracts for its 2022 Workshop
HamSCI is soliciting abstracts for the 2022 HamSCI Workshop. The submission deadline is February 1, 2022. The workshop will be a hybrid (in-person and virtual) event from March 18 – 19, 2022, at the US Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama

Starlink satellite’s near-collision with Chinese station puts focus on space jam
First reported by The Guardian, which cited experts as saying the Chinese action was unusual, the incident spotlights the growing risk in space, where orbital room is being crowded out by an astronomical race in which nation-states as well as private companies are increasingly active

Ofcom asked if they’d taken any action against repeater abuse
In a Freedom of Information request Ofcom if they’d issued any warnings to people abusing repeaters

Thaire, W2APF, will be active as VP2MDX from Montserrat Island (NA-103) between January 9th and February 18th, 2022
