Mark Persons W0MH writes in Radio World that experience in amateur radio can be a boon to the broadcast radio engineer

PAR Grant for the Howth Martello Radio Group
Tony, Ei5EM reports that the Howth Martello Radio Group is very grateful to the IRTS for the grant of 800 Euro from the Promoting Amateur Radio fund, PAR. This will go a long way to enable the Group to upgrade the station equipment at EI0MAR

KIWI-SDR receivers back online
Ireland’s IRTS News report that after an heroic repair effort to some failed remote equipment, there are again four internet accessible KIWI-SDR receivers available in Iceland, covering the frequency range from 10 kHz to 30 MHz

Crozet Island DXpedition news
The Northern California DX Foundation is pleased to announce it is granting 20,000 USDs to Thierry Mazel, F6CUK, for the 2022 Crozet Island DXpedition planned for December 2022 thru March 2023. Crozet Island is #3 on the ClubLog Most Wanted List world-wide and #2 in North America

The ‘DXCC Most Wanted’ entities list has been updated on ClubLog as of October 30th. The list contains 340 entities

ZS18MOTH active from Thursday 11 November
Armistice Day is held on 11 November each year and a Remembrance Day parade or ceremony is usually held on the Sunday closest to 11th November. This year it will be held on 14 November 2021. A special call sign, ZS18MOTH, has been obtained to commemorate the signing of the Armistice 103 years ago at approximately 05:00 on Monday 11 November 1918

Virtual Ham Festa 2021 will be hosted by Japanese Hams on Nov. 13
JARL cancelled again this year’s Tokyo Ham Fair due to COVID-19, but, unlike ARRL and other societies, JARL did not plan anything in lieu of Ham Fair. Therefore, some radio amateur volunteers formed an executive committee and will host ‘Virtual Ham Festa 2021’ on November 13, 2021

On the occasion of the Christmas season, Raymond PA5DX, Wijnand PD8DX and Ramona PD9YL will activate three special callsigns: PA21XMASPD21SANTA and PD22HNY
