Los Angeles hams upgrade emergency communications capabilities
To provide effective emergency communications, amateur radio operators need to find and eliminate sources of radio frequency interference (RFI) that could hinder their operations. Unfortunately, RFI is a widespread problem in Southern California that affects not only amateur radio operators, but also businesses, governments, and the military and RFI complaints can go unresolved for years

 

Norway defers replacement of paper-based ham radio exams
Norgwegian Communications Authority Nkom has announced that radio amateurs will have to continue doing paper exams for a while longer and the questions in the exam will be increased to 60

 

Iceland: Lack of interest forces online course postponement
At a meeting on September 28, the Board of Iceland’s IRA agreed to postpone the advertised online amateur radio course which was to have started on October 4

 

New England Parks On The Air event set for mid-October
