1a. New HawaiiARES group
From: Jim Sugg <Jimsugg7@gmail.com>

As many of you already know, Hawaii ARES has started a new group on groups.io – HawaiiARES – that we will use going forward as the main place to announce and discuss ARES related exercises in the state. This new group will supersede this group (HiCoAres,) which will soon be retired.

For topics of interest specifically for the Big Island, a subgroup will be created in the HawaiiARES group.

All ARES members should have already received a notification via email for this group. Hawaii ARES members will automatically be enrolled in the group.

If anyone has any questions about this new group, feel free to ask.

2a. Hawaii ARES / American Red Cross Drill – May 8, 2021
From: Jim Sugg <Jimsugg7@gmail.com>
Date: Fri, 07 May 2021 15:07:24 PDT

The spring Red Cross nationwide emergency communications drill will be held on Saturday, May 8th, with Red Cross, ARES and other operators asked to demonstrate the ability to deliver digital messages using Red Cross forms to specific addresses via Winlink.

Information on this drill is available on the HawaiiARES website ( https://hawaiiares.net ).

This message also includes a PDF attachment with details on the exercise.

Please note that all future announcements regarding ARES exercises will be made on the HawaiiARES reflector. Please make sure you are subscribed to that new group. I am posting here to make sure everyone gets the word.

Please participate if you can.
