The ZS SOTA autumn activity day on 1 May
This is a fun event to encourage radio amateurs to participate in the Summits on the Air (SOTA) programme. The activity day is open to all radio amateurs and runs from 00:00 to 23:59 CAT on Saturday 1 May 2021

Visalia DX Convention 2021
Many DXers have a visit to the Visalia DX Convention on their wish list. This year, the 72nd meeting of this famous International DX Convention, sponsored by the Northern California DX Club (NCDXC) will be held on Saturday, May 15 and Sunday, May 16, via Zoom webinars

Tony’s 10m Band Report
Tuesday was a monster day, lots of stations and loads of DX. VP2EIH (Anguilla), VP8LP (Falklands), HZ1EARTH (Saudi Arabia) and more just for Tuesday.

As for the rest of the week, Thursday was dead, just D44PM (Cape Verde). Saturday and Sunday revived things somewhat with ZL3IO New Zealand, 4S7VG (Sri Lanka) and YW200BC/1 (Venezuela)

Look for the following Spanish stations to be active between May 7-9th, to celebrate/commemorate ‘Europe Day – On The Air 2021’ which was created in 1950

FCC auto-registration feature for exam applicants to be discontinued
The ARRL report that auto-registration in the FCC Commission Registration System (CORES) amateur radio exam for candidates using a Social Security number will be discontinued on May 20, 2021

Evil Crow is ready to cause some RF mayhem
There’s no doubt that the RTL-SDR project has made radio hacking more accessible than ever, but there’s only so far you can go with a repurposed TV tuner. Obviously the biggest shortcoming is the fact that you can only listen to signals, and not transmit them.
