News for Thursday 1 October

Tony’s 10m Band Report
The early part of the week was a disaster. Saturday and Sunday were an improvement but even then considering there was a CQ WW contest on it was not what you would normally expect.

Best of the week probably YN2N (Nicaragua), D44PM (Cape Verde) and FY5KE (French Guiana). Tuesday was also Puerto Rico day, the best of the QRZ.com pictures is KP4TF.

Amateur (Ham) Radio operator since 1977 (currently holds the Amateur Extra Class License from the FCC-KH6JRM).... Can read, write, and speak Russian. Retired on 30 September 2011, but still maintains a Hawaii Island News Blog.

    The FCC is closed today (Friday, June 18) in observance of the new Juneteenth federal holiday. Juneteenth, officially observed on June 19, celebrates the end of slavery in the US. Amateur radio applications and exam sessions filed after Thursday, June 17, night will not be processed until Monday, June 21.
