June 15, 2020 09:14 AM – Southgate ARC – The challenge for 2021 – Should we plan for an in-person convention in Visalia or a Virtual meeting? Everyone wants to hold out hope for a face-to-face meeting next year, but we have to ask, “What will our ‘new normal’ lifestyle be like next April and can we guarantee a ‘Covid-Free’ environment for our attendees?”
LY2YR completes contact with S50B for another first on the new 40 MHz band
June 15, 2020 09:14 AM – Southgate ARC – At the end of April 2020, LY2YR in Lithuania made a contact with EI4GNB in Ireland for the first LY-EI QSO on the new 40 MHz amateur band
KPH Coastal Radio Station
June 15, 2020 09:14 AM – Southgate ARC – In this video Shannon Morse KM6FPP visits coastal radio station KPH which provided ship to shore communications using Morse code. Volunteers have preserved it and operate weekends

June 15, 2020 09:14 AM – Southgate ARC – Due to the continuing need for social distancing, the IRTS VHF/UHF Field Day, which normally takes place over the first weekend of July, will not take place this year

June 15, 2020 09:14 AM – Southgate ARC – Mid April the main Tram 50 Transmitter failed on 549KHz, local engineer was unable to repair, so the standby Harris DX 25 had the covers removed and put back into service. I still think the Harris has a better sound than the Tram 50 unit
