Foundations of Amateur Radio Lessons Learnt Learning to me is an ongoing process. For some reason that’s not a universal experience. I’ve met people who cram for an exam, pass their test, get the certificate and hang out their shingle. The retained knowledge is spotty and vigorously defended as the final word on the topic
Australian Foundation amateur radio licence changes
Australian Foundation holders are now permitted to build transmitters and let unlicenced people use their station. WIA hope the problematic 7 character callsign issue will be addressed later
HAREC exams at HAMEXPO show October 12
A HAREC certificate allows you to apply for highest class of amateur licence in any CEPT country. There’s an opportunity to take a 40 question HAREC exam at the HAMEXPO show in Le Mans Oct. 12

Changes to VK Licence Conditions
The ACMA Spectrum Licence Policy Section has implemented an amendment to the licence conditions for VK amateurs. This came into effect on 21 September and varies all 3 licence classes
Belgium radio hams may use OR Prefix
To celebrate the birthday of Her Royal Highness Princess Elisabeth of Belgium radio amateurs may use the prefix OR instead of ON from October 25 to December 25
