Eric and the crew from “Ham Radio Concepts Amateur Radio Channel” have done an excellent job of creating the sensation of being at one of the world’s largest Amateur/Ham Radio Exhibitions. The interview with Gordon West is especially well-done. The tour is complete from the bargain “flea market” to the newest equipment displays. According to Eric, approximately 28,000 radio amateurs made the trip to the Xenia, Ohio Fairgrounds to see what Amateur/Ham Radio has accomplished in the past year. The event also featured Amateur Radio forums, discussion groups, guest speakers, and VE testing for Amateur Radio Licenses. And for once, the weather cooperated.

Hawaii Island radio amateurs are encouraged to register for the new ARRL EMCOMM Course (EC-001). According to ARRL Pacific Section Manager Joseph Speroni (AH0A), the “restructured EmComm program (will) address the practical aspects of radio communications as well as the skills needed to better serve local communities in emergencies…” Joe says the “new EC-001 course addresses Hawaii’s situation as an island state state.” The first class scheduled for Hawaii begins in June 2019. Pacific Section Emergency Coordinator (SEC), Clem Jung (KH7HO) will handle student registration and “coordinate scheduling with the ARRL Education department.” The EC-001 Course is free and is open to all Amateur Radio operators.
