Hello everyone,
As mentioned a few weeks ago Jim Kennedy will be returning to Florida soon. A few of us helped him lower his 30′ tower and disassemble some antennas. Now it’s time to lower the 50′ tower and we’re looking for a group of men to assist. Tentatively (subject to wind, rain, and schedule coordination) we’ve scheduled a tower lowering party at Jim’s QTH in Papaikou (7 miles out of Hilo) next Tuesday, May 21, at noon. There will be no need to climb the tower, and lowering it should not take too long.
After the tower is lowered, those who can remain could help disassemble the tower and other antenna equipment already on the ground. If you can join us, please email Jim K6MIO at
808-964-3140
If you have some hand tools, those might come in handy for removing nuts and bolts.
