Hawaii Island Amateur/Ham Radio News:
Doug Wilson (KH7DQ) is offering two more free Technician License Classes on Hawaii Island: 23 May 2019 in Waimea (location TBA) and 17 October 2019 at the Keaau Community Center in Keaau, Hawaii Island. For details, contact Doug at douscelle@aol.com.
Hawaii Island radio amateurs are urged to sign up for the new ARRL EMCOMM Course (EC-001). According to ARRL Pacific Section Manager Joseph Speroni (AH0A), “The new EC-001 course addresses Hawaii’s situation as an island state…Students will be assigned mentors in Hawaii who are knowledgeable in relationships with our local served agencies…Course mentors will be assigned in the same county as the student whenever possible.” The first class scheduled for Hawaii begins in June 2019.
