Hawaii Island Amateur/Ham Radio News:
Doug Wilson (KH7DQ) is offering free Technician License Classes for prospective radio operators on Hawaii Island. Here are the remaining classes for this year: 23 May 2019 in Waimea (location TBA) and 17 October 2019 at the Keaau Community Center in Keaau, Hawaii Island. For details, contact Doug at douscelle@aol.com.
Hawaii Island radio amateurs are encouraged to register for the new ARRL EMCOMM Course (EC-001). According to ARRL Pacific Section Manager Joseph Speroni (AH0A), the course will begin in June 2019 and will “address the practical aspects of radio communications as well as the skills needed to better serve local communities in emergencies.” Pacific Section Emergency Coordinator (SEC), Clem Jung (KH7HO) will handle student registrations and “coordinate with the ARRL Education department.” To register, send an email to Clem at kh7ho@arrl.net.
