Hawaii Island Amateur/Ham Radio News:
The next meeting of the Big Island Amateur Radio Club will be held on Saturday, 11 May 2019, 1400 HST, at the Keaau Community Center in Keaau, Hawaii Island.
Doug Wilson (KH7DQ) is continuing his free Technician License Classes on Hawaii Island. There are two remaining classes for this year: 23 May 2019 in Waimea (location TBA) and 17 October 2019 at the Keaau Community Center in Keaau, Hawaii Island. Please contact Doug at douscelle@aol.net.
Hawaii Island radio amateurs can now sign up for the new ARRL EMCOMM Course (EC-001). According to Pacific Section Manager Joseph Speroni (AH0A), the new approach to emergency communications addresses “the practical aspects of radio communications as well as the skills needed to better serve local communities in emegencies.” The new course begins in June 2019. Pacific Section Emergency Coordinator (SEC), Clem Jung (KH7HO) will handle student registration for course and work with the ARRL Education Department to coordinate scheduling. To register, contact Clem at kh7ho@arrl.net.
