Hawaii Island Amateur/Ham Radio News:
Hawaii Island radio amateurs are encouraged to sign up for the new ARRL EMCOMM Course (EC-001). According to Pacific Section Manager Joseph Speroni (AH0A), the “course addresses Hawaii’s situation as an island state” and covers “the practical aspects of radio communications as well as the skills needed to better serve local communities in emergencies.” Pacific Section Emergency Coordinator (SEC) Clem Jung (KH7HO) will handle student registration for the EC-001 course and “coordinate scheduling with the ARRL Education department.” To register, please contact Clem at kh7ho@arrl.net.
Doug Wilson (KH7DQ) is continuing his free Technician License classes on Hawaii Island. The current class is underway at Discovery Harbor in Ka’u. Here are the remaining classes for 2019: 23 May 2019 in Waimea (location TBA) and 17 October 2019 at the Keaau Community Center in Keaau, Hawaii Island.
