A big ‘Thankyou’ to Graham Kemp, VK4BB of the WIA National News Service for his very kind words about Southgate Amateur Radio News in this week’s WIA news bulletin. |
Hawaii Island Amateur/Ham Radio notes:
The final round of Amateur Radio Technician Class License classes begins on 01 November 2018 at the Keaau Community Center in Keaau (Hawaii Island). The VE-administered test will be given on 06 December 2018. A test fee of $15.00 in exact cash will be collected at the time of each exam. For details, contact Doug Wilson (KH7DQ) at douscelle@aol.com.
You can still sign up for the QTH.NET (http://QTH.NET) Email Listserve. According to coordinator Les Hittne (K)BAD), “the main advantage of using such a listserve is that you do not have to individually maintain a list of club-member email addressed in order to enter into important conversations related to club operations.” Les adds that “The listserve provides a secure means of sending club email.” For more information , contact Les at lhittner@bbci.com. The listserve has been quite active over the past few months, including the most recent edition, where Hawaii Island has acquired two more repeaters–one of them built by Les (K0BAD).
