I received this message from the Hawaiian Mainland Allstarlink Network concerning a weekly emergency communications net open to all Hawaii radio amateurs. The current net meets today (Sunday) at 1600 HST (0200 UTC). ‘Sorry for the late notice, but I just received the information shortly after 1000 HST. Here’s the announcement for future reference:
“Aloha All,
Please join us Sunday afternoon for our weekly emergency communications net at 4:00PM (HST) Hawaii Standard time on the Hawaiian Mainland Allstarlink Network. All radio amateurs are invited. This network has a big footprint, and good ears with multiple remote Allstar simplex and repeater nodes, so hams on every island and on the Mainland should be able to check in.

Weekly Hilo LDS Stake Net Monday Night 16 July at 8:30pm Hawaii Standard Time (0630 UTC)
Net Control: Alex (AH6KZ) (Kurtistown, Big Island)
Alex (AH6KZ) will take check-ins from Hilo Stake first followed by others on the Allstarlink network to include other Stakes in the Hawaiian Islands and mainland stations. This net is open to anyone who wants to participate. He’ll be Stake VHF repeater on 147.280 (+) PL 88.5. Allstarlink Node 45886. Please observe a two second delay on key up time between each transmission.

Jim Sugg (AH6AE) needs some Hawaii Island radio amateurs to help out with the 25 August 2018 Emergency Preparedness Fair in Waimea (Hawaii Island). The free community event runs from 0800 to 1200 HST at the Mana Christian Ohana Hall near the Kahilu Theatre. For details, call Jim at (808) 747-4500 (mobile).
The final round of free Amateur Radio Technician License prep classes will begin on 01 November 2018 at the Keaau Community Center. The VE-administered test will be given on 06 December 2018. The 2018 edition of the Hawaiian Grid Madness VHF/UHF Simplex Event will be held on Sunday, 16 September 2018, from 1300 to 1700 HST.
