Everyone is invited to HPP Radio Day on Saturday, 28 April 2018, from 0900 to 1600 HST, at the Hawaiian Paradise Park Community Center, 17th and Maku’u Drive in the Puna District.  According to coordinator Mike Stratton (KH6PAC), “We want to let everyone know that the event is open to all hams, especially the newest ham operators…Out plan is to have several different radios set up…There will be lots of activities and demonstrations.” For details, contact Mike at jefffan@hotmail.com.

Don’t forget to sign up for the QTH.NET Email Listserve.  According to coordinator Les Hittner (K0BAD), “The main advantage of using such a listserve is that you do not have to individually maintain a list of club-member email addresses in  order to enter into important conversations related to club operations.”  Les adds that “The listserve provides a secure means of sending club email.”  For more information, email Les at lhittner@hbci.com.

Free classes to prepare students for the Amateur Radio Technician’s License are underway, with VE testing for all license levels set for 26 April 2018.  The next round of Technician prep classes will begin on 03 May 2018 at the HOVE Community Center in Ocean View. The VE-administered exam will be held on 07 June 2018.  The final round of Technician prep classes begins on 01 November 2018 at the Keaau Community Center in Keaau.  The VE-administered test will be given on 06 December 2018.  A test fee of $15.000 in exact cash will be collected at the time of each exam.
