Everyone is invited to the HPP Radio Day on Saturday, 28 April 2018, 0900-1600 HST, at the Hawaiian Paradise Park Community Center, 17th and Maku’u in the Puna District. According to event coordinator Mike Stratton, “We want everyone to know that the event is open to all hams, especially the newest ham operators…Our plan is to have several different radios set up…There will be lots of activities and demonstrations.” For more information, contact Mike at jefffan@hotmail.com.
The second round of free Technician License prep classes is set for 22 March 2018 at Kona’s West Hawaii Civic Center. The final exam will be given on 26 April 2018. A test fee of $15.00 in exact cash is due at the time of each exam. For more details, contact Doug Wilson (KH7DQ) at douscelle@aol.com.
You still have time to sign up for the Big Island Amateur Radio Club’s QTH.NET Email Listserve. According to coordinator Les Hittner (K0BAD), “The main advantage of using such a listserve is that you do not have to individulally maintain a list of club-member email addresses in order o enter into important conversations related to club operations.” Les adds that “The listserve provides a secure means of sending club mail…Listserve emails are easily identified by their unique Subject Line headings…Access to the Listserve can be placed on the club’s website.” To register for the new listserve, please send an email to lhittner@hbci.com.
