Nordics On The Air – first subregional YOTA camp
Youngsters On The Air are glad to announce our first YOTA IARU Region 1 sub-project! It’s called Nordics On The Air (or NOTA for short) and will be hosted by Sweden’s SSA

NOTA is essentially going to be a camp for young radio amateurs which will take place at Hemsö fortress in the middle of Sweden near Sundsvall/Härnösand.

It will take place from March 1st to March 4th 2018. The camp is directed towards all the Nordic countries.

Saint Brandon Island DXpedition
In about a month we will reach Saint Brandon. This year of work to prepare the project was intense and we are impatient to see it finally materialize

IARU R1 EC Meeting Minutes

Hawaii Island Amateur Radio events

New series of Technician License prep classes underway.

Free Technician License prep classes are now underway on Hawaii Island.  The first round began at Hilo’s Aupuni Conference Room on 15 February 2018.  Round two will be held at Kona’s West Hawaii Civic Center, beginning on 22 March 2018.  The final exam is set for 26 April 2018.  Round three will be held at the HOVE Community Center in Ocean View, beginning on 03 May 2018.  The final exam will be held on 07 June 2018.  The fourth and final round of Technician License prep classes begins on 01 November 2018 at the Kea’au Community Center.  The final exam is set for 13 December 2018.  For details, contact Doug Wilson (KH7DQ) at

HPP Radio Day is coming.

Everyone is invited to the HPP Radio Day on Saturday, 28 April 2018, from 0900 to 1600 (HST) at the Hawaiian Paradise Park Community Center at 17th and Maku’u in the Puna District.  Coordinator Mike Stratton (KH6PAC) says “We want to let everyone know that the event is open to all hams, especially the newest ham operators…Our plan is to have several different radios set up…There will be lots of activities and demonstrations.”  For details, email Mike at
