Here is the full text of an email I received from ARRL Pacific Section Manager, Joe Speroni (AH0A), regarding NBC coverage of Hawaii’s false missile attack message and how Hawaii radio amateurs responded to the event:

 to me

Aloha members,

In late December NBC TV contacted us to arrange ham interviews on the
subject of Amateur Radio in emergencies.  They were interested in events
related to North Korea, in the news almost daily.

Unplanned, the false cell phone alert occurred on the last day of their
trip.

A rough estimate of 25 hours of video interviews with around 20 active
hams.  From this the NBC team did a great job producing this
7-and-a-half-minute video..  It will be of use in Hawaii in promoting
Amateur Radio and EMCOMM.
