Here are some of the upcoming IOTA (Islands On The Air) DX-peditions scheduled for early 2018:

AS-088 (A70X operating from Al Safliya Island, Qatar, 01-06 January 2018).

OC-016 (3D2JS operating from Tavenui Island, Fiji from early January through mid-March 2018).

OC-105/OC-174 (DU1UD/8 operating from Mapun Island, Philippines, first or second quarter of 2018).

Upcoming event for Hawaii Island radio amateurs:

The Big Island of Hawaii International Swap Meet/Hamfest is coming to the Waimea Community Center on Saturday, 13 January 2018.  The event is sponsored by the Kohala Hamakua Radio Club and will include a ham radio swap meet, guest speakers, and a VE test session for amateur radio licenses.  Doors open to the public at 0930 Hawaii Standard Time, with VE testing beginning at 1300 Hawaii Standard Time.  Talk-in on 147.32 MHz.  For details, contact Steve Milner (WH6N) at wh6n@arrl.net.
