Hawaii Island will be hosting three major communications events in September and October 2017:
Hawaiian Islands Grid Madness 2017 will be held on Sunday, 17 September 2017, from 1300 to 1700 HST. This VHF/UHF simplex contest is open to all license radio amateurs. For details, visit http://gridmadness.blogspot.com.
Radio Day II will be held on Saturday, 30 September 2017, at the “Great Organic Lava Farm” otherwise known as GOLF or the Kopua Farm Lots Golf Course. The community event will feature a variety of operating techniques and equipment along with lots of fun and networking opportunities. For details, contact Kim at email@example.com.
The 2017 Simulated Emergency Test (SET) will be held on Saturday, 21 October 2017, from 0800 to 1300 HST. The scenario for SET 2017 will be a Great Aleutian Tsunami which will have a disastrous impact on all Hawaiian Islands. For more information, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
