Here is the latest ARRL Pacific Section News from Section Manager, Joe Speroni (AH0A):
“Aloha ARRL Pacific Section!
Next week is our biggest annual HF operating event, the Hawaii QSO
Party. It runs from Friday August 25th 18:00 (Hawaii Standard Time) for
48 hours. Lots of time to make an appearance and give newcomers an
opportunity to make a QSO with the 50th state.
HQP can also be an opportunity for our new hams to participate. We’d
like to encourage active HF operators to invite newly licensed friends
to operate from their stations. Make it a real QSO Party.
For information on the event see the contest web site at
www.HawaiiQSOParty.org
Our blog at http://oahuarrlnews.wordpress.com/ follows stories about
activities in Pacific Section. Recently it covered a successful ham
class for Marines on MCBH, a very active Hawaii QRP Homeless Ham and
local hams supporting the Hawaiian Humane Society. You may have seen
some of these stories on the ARRL web site.
