Comment:
Debate over the “Amateur Radio Parity Act” (H.R. 555 and S. 1534) continues in the U.S. Senate with the ARRL backing a measure to force HOA and CC&R properties to be more accommodating to Amateur Radio antennas.
Several radio amateurs, including attorneys Jim Talens (N3JT) and Fred Hopengarten (K1VR), have advanced their own thoughts on the “Amateur Radio Parity Act”, which they consider “not good for Amateur Radio.”
Talens and Hopengarten express their views on the current edition of “Ham Radio News” (HRN), episode 342:
Two of them, former FCC attorney Jim Talens N3JT, and well-known antenna law attorney, author (and contester) Fred Hopengarten K1VR, join David Goldenberg W0DHG and Gary Pearce KN4AQ to make their case. If you want an explanation of what’s in the Bill, pre- and post-compromise, check out HamRadioNow Episode 259 (Click-bait titled PokeHAM GOta).
