The Hawaii QSO Party will be held from 0400 hrs, UTC, Saturday, 26 August 2017 ti 0400 hrs, UTC, Monday, 28 August 2017. The Hawaii QSO Party is a perfect way to promote Amateur Radio and the state of Hawaii, as well as to encourage new licensees to explore the world of HF and contesting. This event will surely keep you busy as many radio amateurs around the world will want a Hawaii contact for various awards, including Worked All States (WAS) and ARRL DXCC.
According to Darren Holbrook (KH6OWL) there are a few rule changes to make logging and contacts a bit easier:
-
The contest 48 hour operating period will be from 04:00 UTC Aug 26 to 04:00 UTC Aug 28, 2017.
-
Stations may be worked only on the 10, 15, 20, 40, 80 and 160 meter bands.
-
Stations may be worked once per band-mode (CW, SSB, digital). All digital modes are allowed but are considered “digital”.
-
Mulitple contacts with the same station using different types of digital modes on the same band are not allowed.
-
Use of spotting websites is permitted and encouraged.
-
Operation must conform to home country regulations.
-
Logs should be submitted electronically by September 30, 2017.
