Comment:
This video from Rob Sherwood (NC0B) was part of the 2017 Contest University presentation.
Sherwood does an excellent job of describing how emerging technologies have changed the commercial marketplace, from consumer goods to scientific hobbies such as Amateur Radio.
Sherwood contends that new technologies have forced old markets to recede while encouraging the growth of new markets and products to meet consumer demand. He discusses the evolution of new communications technologies and their impact on the Amateur Radio Community. The message is clear: adapt or be left behind.
Don’t forget the 2017 ARRL Field Day on 24-25 June 2017. Hawaii Island radio amateurs will participate in the Field Day event at the Eden Roc park and community pavilion, beginning at 8:00 a.m., Saturday, 24 June 2017. Field Day runs through 8:00 a.m., Sunday, 25 June 2017.
