Comment:
Thanks to Jeff Davis (KE9V) for bringing this psa to my attention.
Here’s the public service announcement released by HQ ARRL promoting the 2017 ARRL Field Day, set for Saturday and Sunday, 24-25 June 2017. The psa does a good job of explaining what Field Day is and how you can participate. Also, HQ ARRL has released pre-recorded psa material suitable for radio and cable stations. I’ve sent the appropriate links to Hawaii Island radio stations so they can download the messages and use them when their program schedules permit.
In a related topic, The East Hawaii District of Amateur Radio Emergency Services and the Puna Emergency Radio Club will host “Radio Day” on Saturday, 29 April 2017, beginning at 9 a.m. Hawaii Standard Time at the Eden Roc park and community pavilion. This will also be the site of 2017 ARRL Field Day activities for many Hawaii Island Amateur Radio Clubs on Saturday and Sunday, 24-25 June 2017. For more information, please contact Kim at wh6@gmail.com.
Please send your Hawaii Island Amateur Radio news items to kh6jrm@arrl.net at least two weeks prior to your event so I can notify our local print and broadcast media in a timely manner.
