If you’re a licensed Amateur Radio Operator volunteering for service in ARES, RACES, SATERN (Salvation Army) or any other communications support group, you need a “go-box” or “go-kit” for emergency and portable operations. This box should have emergency antennas, batteries, solar chargers, a HF rig, VHF/UHF rig, tools, first aid supplies, and a small bag of spare parts, such as connectors, extra feed line, insulators, and waterproof tape.
Once you’ve made your “go-box”, you can leave it in your shack or vehicle for the next portable or emergency operation.
In this video from KF9ZA, we see the evolution of his “go-box” from a purely VHF/UHF station to a full spectrum station incorporating HF, VHF, and UHF.
The video is well-done and easy to understand. A complete list of all components can be found at these sites:

This video should give some good ideas for your “go-box” project.
