A letter to the editor of “The Herald Journal” in Logan, Utah from John Eastmond (KC7NCH) praising emergency and first responders is long overdue, considering the amount of natural and man-made disasters befalling many citizens of this country.
In his introductory remarks, John said he was asked by those “directly impacted by tragedy” and helped by emergency responders to forward a heartfelt “thank you” to “the many emergency people I know.”
John got on the air and expressed those feelings to the many amateur radio nets and volunteers he knows. The article in his local newspaper was a followup to the one-to-one thank yous he expressed over the air.
A very nice tribute to the people who risk their lives to protect our homes, businesses, and families.
