Comment:
This presentation by AREDN Project Manager Andre Hansen (K6AH) at the September 2016 ARRL and TAPR Digital Communications Conference in St. Petersburg, Florida shows what can be done to design, build, and use a wide-range mesh network for emergency communications. Compared to San Diego’s AREDN program, ARES development on Hawaii Island is still in its infancy. But, the success of the AREDN program gives us something to work for. Excellent, fascinating presentation.
